We have an exciting announcement about badges coming in May 2025. Until then, we will temporarily stop issuing new badges for course completions and certifications. However, all completions will be recorded and fulfilled after May 2025.

GPU License

Does the student version come with a license for enabling GPU? When I try to enable GPU I get the following error:

Not enough HPC parallel licenses 8/4.

Simulation was terminated by license error.

You're requesting 8 cores for a run, the Student licence only allows 4. I suspect you won't get the GPU solver licence either, but it'll be covered in the download part of the site somewhere.

Thank you for your reply. I couldn't find this information on the download page anywhere.

I had a look, looks like it was a "should be there" and isn't.  There is a note about 4 cores only under the System Requirements.

I am editing my response here to clear the confusion.

If you have a GPU card with less than or equal to 40 SMs, GPU computing on Fluent via student product can be used. See the snapshot below taken from my machine showing the number of SMs available on GPU card. Since I have 48 SMs, GPU computing on Fluent via student product is not supported.
