Hi, I have been issued a license by Ansys in a file called 'LSTC_winlic.txt' which I have tried to use without success. It appears to give access to MPPDYNA (Option: Revision 13), MPPDYNA_971 (Option: Revision 6), MPPDYNA_970, MPPDYNA_960, LS-DYNA (Option: Revision 13), LS-DYNA_971 (Option: Revision 6), LS-DYNA_970, and LS-DYNA_960. It lists a key at the bottom and at the top it lists 40-digit SERVER and additional 'Interfaces'. I have tried unsuccessfully to run LS-DYNA of various versions (the key appears to let me use MPP or SMP versions 13 or 6 so I have been trying 13 smp and mpp, but also 12). I have tried running it both from LS-RUN after loading in the license, and from the command line after checking that the two environment variables point to the local license. However I always get the same 'Error Bad license keys!' message in my output/log. I must be missing something? Below is an example output.Â
Thanks,
Will Grissom

Hello,
We do not issue node locked licenses anymore; we only issue network licenses. Please set the following environment variable on the client machine:
LSTC_LICENSE=network
Â
The "bad keys in the license file" error message can happen for a few reasons:
- The license file (server_data) was edited in a text editor. This is not allowed. Please make sure you use the original license file sent by Ansys.
- The license file was modified by the email system (this happens!). The solution is to request that the LSTC license file is sent via Ansys SecureTransfer.
- You have a license file with "Jobs" and "Added cores" which requires the latest LSTC license manager.
- The license is used as "node locked".
You can download the latest version of the LSTC License Manager here:
https://ftp.lstc.com/user/Download-Instructions/Job-License-Manager/
username: user
password: computer
Â
Here is the LSTC license manager installation procedure for Windows:
https://ftp.lstc.com/user/license/License-Manager/LS-DYNA%20Win%20License%20Server%20installation%20and%20update%20Aug%2026_2.pdf
Here it is for Linux:
https://ftp.lstc.com/user/download-instructions/License-Manager/LSTC_LicenseManager-InstallationGuide.pdf
Â
Finally, the following website will have most of the LS-DYNA resources:
https://lsdyna.ansys.com/
Â
Let me know how it goes.
Â
Reno.
