SubscriberHello All,
I am using TB+ANISO to simulate the plastic behavior of an orthotropic material. I am wondering how adding the Orthotropic stress limits affect the results. For example, it the tensile stress of one direction exceeds the specified stress limit, what will the Ansys do? Delete that element directly?
Thank you all for your help.

Hi

These values are only used I believe for calculating failure criteria such as say Tsai-Wu etc.
See the help manual:
’This data table defines the strength limits and other related constants required for computing failure criteria (FC) index of a material under various loading conditions'
See an example on that and how they are used for FC:

Thank you

SubscriberHello Eric,
Thank you for your reply. I understand that the orthotropic stress limits can be used in the ACP module. May I ask whether it can be applied along with Static Structural alone without ACP PrePost? Or will the stress limits come into play in the static structural module?
Regards,
Eason
