SubscriberI am trying to get drag average drag coefficient for a certain geometry at some certain Reynolds number. My drag and lift coefficient plots are stabilized with a fluctuation and after the simulation when i calculate the drag or lift coefficients it shows me the instantaneous value of the plot where the simulation stops. But I need to know the maximum, minimum and average drag or lift coefficient values from that fluctuating plots. Can anyone help me about this, please? Â

Ansys Employee1/Export the Report as Outfile and do post-processing outside of Fuent to get Max, Min and Average
Or
2/Store Forces in Cell Memories and do all in Point 1/ via User Defined Functions.

SubscriberThank you very much for your reply sir. But I am very sorry I could not understand properly. It would be very helpful if you could kindly tell me in a bit details. Actually I am very new to ANSYS as well as in research and my work is stuck for this lack of information. I don't know from where I should export the reoprt as outfile. I am still searching for it.Â

Ansys EmployeeWhen creating Drag Report or Lift Report you have the option (and in the newst versions always selected) to write an out-file (text file) with the Drag and Lift Values vs time step or flow time. Please have a look into the help and search after Report Definition.

SubscriberDear sir, Thank you very much. I found out how to create report.out file. And did you meant that I need to find out my desired max, min and avg. drag coefficient from the data on my own in Excel? I was finding if there is any built in option in ANSYS where I can activate the option to calculate max, min or avg? I found there is force option in report definition from where i can just calculate instaneous drag or lift coefficients.Â

Ansys EmployeeAs mentioned in my first message the only one option will be to the work using UDF to track the forces, the mean, minimum and maximum over time in Ansys Fluent.
