Interface Delamination

      Hello.

I've made a preliminary analysis for interface delamination. I can see the crack propagation between layers.

I can't measure the crack length. Normally, there must be a crack extension probe in the ''Fracture Tool''. However, I cant see this.

So, how can I measure the crack length?

      Many thanks

Hello, for interface delamination, if you're using interface elements (INTER20X), the only output parameters available are separation parameters. We don't have direct output for crack extension (for this you may want to consider the VCCT method for delamination instead).

However, if you are also interested in plotting the separation parameters for interface elements, you can use a user-defined result to do so. See the documentation for INTER202 (table 202.1): https://ansyshelp.ansys.com/account/secured?returnurl=/Views/Secured/corp/v222/en/ans_elem/Hlp_E_INTER202.html

With this, you can plot the separation between nodes:
