Hi,
Need help with setting up a parametric modal analysis in WB. It's a simple run that repeats with a varying parameter.
I have ansys workbench installed on linux HPC an would like to run using parallel computing.
How do I set this up with shared memory mode?
Thanks.

In Workbench, to use shared memory mode, simply uncheck the Distributed Ansys checkbox on the Solution Parameter Settings.

In my benchmark testing of 10 different models, the solution took less time when Distributed was checked than when it was unchecked. Why do you want to uncheck it?Â

Thank you!
Un-check the box worked.

The reason I'm using shared memory is my group's policy.

Oh!  A policy that slows things down for ANSYS users.  What is the benefit of such a policy? You don’t have to answer that.
What I would do is run a few benchmark tests to show what that policy does to the ANSYS solution time, then I would have data to argue an exception to the policy for ANSYS users.
