DO radiation and porous zone

      Dear all,

I am looking at implementing the DO radiation model in a simulation which involves porous media.

As an overview of the simualtion, I have a chamber and inside a porous sample at 1500°C. The sample is cooled by steam flow at v=0.3 m/s (laminar). I am looking right now into the steady state solution and i am interested in the temperature distribution in the chamber.

I have noticed that the radiation coming from the solid part of the porous zone is not accounted for. Also there is no space to specify the absorbitivity of the solid material.
How can I consider the radiation coming from/being absorbed by solid porous areas? Is there a work around or should I just another radiation model (my optical thickness is 0.003)?

      Hi,

By default only fluid zone participate in radiation. Please check the " participate in radiation" setting under cell zone to include radiation in solid domain. Please see the screenshot below.
