Hello
Most of the issues you are referring to - Convergence, Dynamic mesh failure, are related to having a poor starting mesh. Your diagnosis seems correct - you need to improve your overall mesh quality.
To do that, there are a couple of things you can do:
Decompose your geometry into smaller parts
Add local mesh sizing in areas where there are small faces, edges, high curvatures etc.
Fine-tune your global mesh settings to get a reasonable mesh.
I vaguely remember that there was a Sim Cafe by Cornell University on Simulation of a Wind Turbine Blade. You could google this and see if this acts as an appropriate starting point for your analysis.
Thank you.
