Hello everyone,

I'm new to this program. I'm using Ansys Mechanical APDL 2021 r2.

When I launch the program, sometimes the output window and the program normally show up for a while (see image), and then just disappear completely. No error, no pop-ups, no nothing. It's really annoying because I have no idea about what is going on and how to resolve the problem if there is nothing to show me what the problem is.

Has anybody experienced the same issue? How can I fix this?

Is there anything written in the file.out?
Can you post the contents...Do not attach file as we are not permitted to open files.
How are you starting MAPDL?
Have you tried running Workbench Mechanical? If new to the software, I would think that would be the way to go.

Can you try the following
Close all ANSYS Programs, if any are open.
rename the directory: %APPDATA%\Ansys\v212 to v212.old
try to run again.

Dear Geo Karnos Thanks for answering my question.
I launch the program via Mechanical APDL 2021 r2.exe. The ANSYS window opens and then closes without any notification or pop-ups.
And yes, I can now open the program using Workbench mechanical. Although I like to open APDL directly (much faster than using Workbench), maybe I have no other choices.
