Hi,

I am working on a 3D-model of a trachea that I got from online. The file came as an obj file with a lot of errors. I followed some of the advice provided on your forum which was very helpful, but I've reached a point where I don't know how to go about fixing the issue.

I will run by you my process and hopefully you can help. I began by having the complete model of a trachea obj file. As I didn't want all the geometry I moved the file into MeshLab and deleted the part that I didn't want, cutting the model and leaving a hole in the mesh. From here I saved as an stl file and moved the model into SpaceClaim. From here, I continued by sealing the hole that was left and having a fully defined model of a trachea. At this point I ran the Check Facets tab to see if there are any geometry problems and none were found.

This is what I have now after following this
I am at the point where the hole fill too is used to complete the fluid body, and now I have a facet that define the fluid.
What do I do from here? How do I get the fluid body as a complete solid surface where I can then follow into Ansys Fluent?

I'm updating as i'm going to make sure every step is recorded.
I managed to get the surfaces to work using the Auto Skin tool. Now I have a Patch body that looks like this
The issue now is that after I save, and import into workbench to simulate, the geometry doesnt work properly. I cannot create a mesh for this body because the body doesnt load.
Is there any way I can troubleshoot this? I saved the file in SpaceClaim as a .scdoc file as it doesnt allow me to save it any other way.
Any advice in how to fix this issue? Are my steps correct?

Another update I think I may have somehow done it.


This is what i'm left with when I import into mechanical. I will try and fix the mesh, but I think my question is answered.
Any advice would still be appreciated though, thank you.
