SubscriberWhat is the biggest difference between Motorcad and Maxwell?
I know that Motorcad is capable of finite element analysis and equivalent circuit model-based analysis, and the analysis time is very fast. What is the biggest reason that interpretation is faster than Maxwell?
Is it possible to design and analyze a dual rotor (2 airgap) in Motorcad? Is it possible to analyze double voids?

Motorcad is a template-based Rotating machine design tool that allows only specified designs. So, unlike Maxwell, there is a limit on what you can achieve with Motorcad (limited number of possible geometries)
Motorcad is mostly used for preliminary design analysis and then coupled with maxwell for advanced Electromagnetic simulation.
Also, you cannot implement a full-level moto controller in Motorcad and cannot couple to structural mechanics.
Where a with Maxwell you have a wide range of coupling simulations possible and can implement complex controllers.
Only the listed configurations in motorcad Help can be analyzed. you can see the list when you go to File>open template
