SubscriberHello All,
I am trying to model a basic boundary layer flow over a flat plate for varying speeds, in 2D.
My issue is that the skin friction coefficient values at fixed points along the plate increase when increasing the inlet speed of the model.
I am aware that the skin friction is inversely proportional to the Reynold's number, and within a set speed, this is visible (as the coefficient value does decrease when travelling along the points on the plate).
I have used a no-slip condition for the plate, along with symmetry for the upper edge of the geometry, with inlet and outlet also defined.
This issue persists with multiple viscous models (i have used laminar, k-omega, k-epsilon, all with the same issue)
I have also conducted a mesh resolution analysis to check if my mesh was fine enough (ended up using 320,000 nodes within the student version). I have included biasing towards the plate as well.

AdministratorHello How is the boundary layer resolution? Also, what is the maximum Reynolds number of your flow? The flow along the flat plate will transition from Laminar to Turbulent. You might wish to use a transitional model to capture this.
We have an example from our Ansys Innovation Courses. Please take a look.
