Results not Recognized – ADRES and .ad Files

      Hello,

After completion of my recent Explicit Dynamics Simulation using ANSYS Workbench, I've noticed that the results are not being recognized by the Workbench/Mechanical software. It seems that despite having a results folder (7+ GB) the results are not viewable and are even cleared by ANSYS when saving the file again. Luckily I've backed up my results but is anyone able to help me recover these results? I have many .ADRES Files each 26MB each and 5 "ANSYS 2020 R2 .ad Files" which are each 75MB in size (I think these are the restart Files).

Could someone help me understand these file types and how to recover the data within them?

      Thank you!

      Tyler

If your model in Explicit Dynamics system has run to completion but failed to have the results back to the system, you can follow the instructions below to read the results.
      1. Save and close your Workbench project.
      2. You need to find the file "dsactions.xml" from the path "Program Files\ANSYS Inc\vxxx\aisol\DesignSpace\DSPages\xml", make a backup copy, and open it using any text editor.
      3. Remove or Comment the line: , save the file, and then close it.
      4. Start the Workbench project and open the Mechanical GUI, you should see that "Read Results File" is activated from the top toolbar
      5. All solution objects should not have any check mark with them. If you see a check mark, you need either to change any option in the Analysis Settings to invalid the results or to clear the existing results manually.
      6. Click on "Read Results File" and browse it to the directory where all results files (.adres) are stored, select any .adres file to read all results back to the Explicit Dynamics system. Make sure the same system of units as the one used in Explicit Dynamics solve is selected while reading the data.
