SubscriberWhat are main differences between Icepak and Mechanical-Thermal Analysis in AEDT? I'm interested in using those modules to execute thermal-electro analysis.
I understand that both modules allow co-simulation with HFSS. For Icepak, I can assign thermal as EMloss, whereas I can excite EMloss in Mechanical-Thermal Analysis.

Ansys EmployeeHello Ha_nguyen3 In AEDT we have 2 thermal solutions with AEDT Icepak and Mechanical Thermal) that can be coupled to our Ansys electromagnetic simulation Tools (HFSS or Maxwell). In both Thermal Tools you can assign an external Heat source. The difference between these tools is that IcePak is based on our Fluids solver specifically to solve heat loss/management problems specifically for electronic products. In Icepak we can have radiation, convection or conducted heat transfer modes. In our Mechanical Thermal solution we assume a steady state thermal analysis where thermal equilibrium has been met over time. The solution from both thermal Tools should be inline with each other if the setups are equivalent. I hope this answers your question.

Thank you very much for your answer.
I have further questions regarding the Mechanical-Thermal Analysis in the following post : /forum/discussion/32977/thermal-em-analysis-in-aedt#latest
Would you mind answer these questions? In addition, I tried to mimic biological tissues in my model. I believe heat transfer for biological tissues also include metabolic rate and blood perfusion. Is there a way to add these values in Ansys? I would appreciate if there are tutorials on temperature prediction on biological tissues.
Thank you very much.
Best regards Ha Nguyen
