Assume I have a cantilever beam fixed at one end. I can conduct a static analysis in FEM like ANSYS for a case where I apply a load on the other end, condition being that in reality, the load is consistently applied on it and time is not an issue here. On the other hand, I apply the same load at the same location on the beam but not consistently, but instead only for a few miliseconds, for example, where I am trying to mimic reality where this load acts on the beam for a very short time period.
So my question is that during these miliseconds i.e. during which I apply the load, should the results of Displacements and Stresses within my model by any different to if I apply the same load at the same location consistently, without a duration of time. If not, then why do we even need to conduct a Transient Analysis when we already have the availability of a much simpler module i.e. Static Analysis?

Static and Dynamic transient FEA analysis are different from physics/maths and FEA point of view.
A static analysis solves the [K]*{x} = {F} (so no dynamic inertia and damping is included), while the other one solves [M]*{x''}+[C]*{x'}+K]*{x} = {F} so the full equation of motion accounting for inertial and damping effects.
What I would recommend you do:
There are many discussion out there that discuss this, so search:
Finally, see our courses offered in transient dynamics and static analysis for a through theoretical description - also NAFEMS do offer courses on these subjects where you can ask instructors - finally ALH has both courses on linear dynamics and statics.
That are some links, perhaps others can provide some more useful links and material for you.
Hope this helps and
All the best of luck
Erik
