SubscriberHello,
Is it possible to get Shell281 or 181 elements to retain its cross-section prependicular to its neutral plane, when deformed/bent?
Thank you

SubscriberHello What I'm trying to find out is if there is a way of only having bending stiffness on the shell, disregarding the membrane effect.
If anyone could shed some light on the matter, I would very much appreciate it.
Thank you

Ansys EmployeeHi
I would recommend that you look in the help manual (element reference) for shell181 or shell281 elements and under the keyoptions perhaps.
All the best

SubscriberThank you for the response I've looked into the manual's element reference, but I couldnt find any keyopt that allowed for the intended effect, maybe the shell elements cannot represent the bending stiffnes alone.
