SubscriberHello Community,
I am simulating an additive manufacturing process. After all layer deposition, I wish to delete the substrate elements before analyzing developed distortion and stress in the component.
In actual practice, after cutting off the substrate plate from the actually deposited component, an amount of residual stress is released. Therefore, the state of stress before and after substrate cutting is different.
I am using edele command in /POST1 but it is not working.
Can anybody give me some clue or something?

Ansys EmployeeUse EKILL instead. It's not permitted to delete elements, but EKILL will have the same effect.

SubscriberHi Thanks for your answer
But the EKILL command does not work in /POST1.
Should it be done in /SOLU processor after complete processing and then restart the analysis?
Multiframe restart?
