How to reading a .cdb file in a previous version of Ansys?

I exported a .cdb file from Ansys 2021 R2, but when I tried to open it in version 2020 R1 as an external model, it puts an exclamation point and I cannot open the model.

      Any thoughts?

      thx,

So that should be in theory possible as shown below -
2021 R2 .cdb file (left image) which is an input text file, and read into 2020 R1 external model and transferred to static analysis, which is more or less fine as shown (the question mark in static model cell, but that is because we need to assign some things there). The issue here is that the material data did not come through correct - if that is an issue for you also, then use another version say 2021 R1 where it imported ok and without any eng. material data issue.

      All the best

      Erik
