SubscriberWhile making a geometric non-linear static structural analysis by putting Large Deflection = ON, in the solver output file it was written that Stress Stiffening = ON. I couldn't understand the basic concept of stress stiffening and why does it happen when Large Deflection is ON? Is this an important aspect in a non-linear analysis and is always important to consider?

Stress stiffening effect usually needs to be considered for thin structures with bending stiffness very small compared to axial stiffness .You may refer to the following documentation for the theory of stress stiffening. For the theory, governing equations of Large deformation, please refer to the following reference along with course.
