SubscriberHi,
I have always was importing sat files to my HFSS design and did not have any problem but this time I need to import step files from Solidworks (I don't have solidworks installed on my system and I receive the files from somebody else, then I cannot go through Ansys workbench and then HFSS). When I import step files just the surfaces are imported instead of bodies!!! Then I cannot created solids from the model.
My question is that if the designmodeler or SCDM should be in the purchased package of HFSS? or I need to purchase the license for them separately? How can I access them?
I appreciate you immediate response.
Best,
Mary

Ansys EmployeeHello@Maryrah
to import Solidworks geometries, download and install the ÔÇ£Electronics MCAD TranslatorsÔÇØ from theAdd-On Packagessection of the download page from the Ansys customer portal.
https://download.ansys.com/Current%20Release
Please remember to select the release which is similar to HFSS that you are running.
Spaceclaim and Design modeler are not included in HFSS Package, They are separately available on the customer portal. you need a separate license for them.

SubscriberThank you so much for the reply. I checked my license file and it states that SpaceClaim is included in my license but I cannot spot it in my installed package below. How can I add/install SCDM to the package?
Also, I have Ansys 19 installed on my system as well which does have SCDM included in the package but when I export the model as a sat file from HFSS 2021 and want to open it in the SCDM 2019, it cannot be read because of the difference in the versions! How can I fix it?
Thanks for your help
