Can I use periodic boundary conditions with VOF

I can see in the manual that the periodic boundaries can’t be used with the VOF model. However, I can use it and the results seems reasonable. Also multiple researches used the periodic boundaries to model a moving droplet using VOF.

I can't see where it says no VOF, https://ansyshelp.ansys.com/account/Secured?returnurl=/Views/Secured/corp/v212/en/flu_ug/flu_ug_sec_periodic_overview.html just that you can't use the mass flow approach. Just make sure you converge the solution well or you may gain/lose mass from the system.

Thanks. In the theory guide point 4.

Thanks looks like another hole in the periodic DOC. I'll log it this end.

Hello everyone, I am going to push a droplet in a microchannel using horizonal and vertical body forces, may somebody distinguishes the difference between these three options in a horizontally periodic 2D channel, BF_x, BF_y which are the desired body forces but in N/m^3
      1) Periodic between left and right with zero pressure gradient, zero vertical and horizonal gravitational accelerations, momentum sources terms in x and y directions of BF_x, BF_y
2)Periodic between left and right with pressure gradient equals x-body force, zero vertical and horizonal gravitational acceleration, momentum sources term only in y direction of BF_y
3)Periodic between left and right with zero pressure gradient, vertical and horizonal gravitational accelerations as much as BF_x/density and BF_y/BF_x/density, no momentum sources terms in x and y directions.
      Many thanks in advance
