CFX error- unexpected run termination

I am running a transient simulation with 2021R1. solver is running fine until it randomly terminates.

ERROR #001100279 has occurred in subroutine ErrAction. Message:  abort file found. Aborting run.
      Signal caught: Abnormal termination.
      Stopped in routine FPX: SIG_HANDLER

All the files are together in one directory and there is no other active run in that directory. I searched the directory and there is no stp file. This same problem has occurred twice in the same run but at different timesteps.

      Hello,
Can you double check your out file again to see if there are any other errors/warnings? Does this happen only for this particular case or for any other CFX case as well?
Can you also test by running this case on another system if possible?

I am running on a HPC cluster. the problem has occurred on different compute nodes, it is not feasible to run the simulation on a PC. The problem has occurred for different cases (different .def files) on the same cluster. I had not encountered this problems with older versions of CFX, I recently switched to 2021R1. Their are no other warnings or errors in the out file.

It is a bit difficult to diagnose as there are no other warnings or errors. Can you test one of the CFX tutorial cases with 2021R1 on the same cluster?
If it crashes as well, then I would think re-installing this particular version might be one way to resolve it.
Since you mentioned that it occurs for all compute nodes on the cluster, I would doubt the installation of the 2021R1 version and not an issue related to the cluster/nodes itself.

I could run a tutorial case but I doubt it would replicate the error. The particular case I am working with requires multiple 5 day ( max allowable job time on the cluster I am working with) runs. The unexpected termination seems to occur randomly sometime in range of 3-4 days of compute time. After the unexpected termination I continue the run from the most recent transient file, the simulation continues past where it crashed before so I do not suspect it is related to my def file. I don't have the resources to run a tutorial case for 5 days at the moment. The unexpected termination does not occur every time either.

If the issue persists I will contact the support for the HPC cluster I am working on. I do not have access to re-install or manage software.

Hello! I also received similar error while running my simulation on my computer in the office. My simulation terminated just after 4 days of run, just close to when i should be expecting my results. What could have been the issue and how do i fix it? I would appreciate any help as this is delaying my progress. I am not too good with the software and i am only getting used to using it. Please see below, the error messaage. please, how did you solve this issue and what did you find out the problem was?

Hello, I have the same question, I have used the Time Transformation Method in CFX to observe a 11-blade fan under an inlet wake, and after 5 days, it crashed. The error information here

Now I want to use transient method to do it again, and I want to know if the error will occur again, if you know how to solve the question and tell us, it will be a significant answer. Thank you.
