How to group different solids in a slurry system into single solid

      Dear all,

I am simulating a three phase slurry system using mixture model. In my system I have 8 solids phases with different particle diameter, one bitumen liquid phase and carrier fluid. Particle diameter ranging from 75 micron to 1000 microns. Now I wan to combine all the solid phase into a single solid phase through any UDF function to avoid number of phases. Any leads on this matter, please comment or respond to this.

      Best regards

      Sekhar

You don't use a UDF you alter the mixture model such that you only have one granular phase. Or model the slurry as a nonNewtonian liquid and don't worry about the solids: you need to understand the flow and physics to use this approach.

Thank you Rob for your clarification. I found that granular flow model (KTGF) will work for single size particle if it considered as phase. If that is case, we can't group different solids into a single solids. Once should have to create number of phases baaed particle diameter
