SubscriberHello all,
I have created a geometry in DesignModeler and a mesh for it in Mechanical based on a chosen number of elements. If I now display the node IDs via Display-Preferences under Mesh Display, each node of the geometry is assigned a number, as expected.Â
My question is now, which system is the basis for this numbering. I have already tried to derive regularities on different geometries. With the same size of the mesh or number of nodes, the actual shape also plays a role. I got different numbering for a cube than for a rectangular geometry. Also the edges at which I set the sizing element for the mesh have influence on the numbering.Â
I appreciate any hints.
Best regards,
Gerrit

SubscriberCan anyone here help me or maybe give a hint how the internal node IDs are generated ?

SubscriberWhy do you care how Ansys numbers the nodes?

SubscriberThank you very much for your answer To explain things: I want to recreate an arbitrary model of Ansys in Python, and train a neural network with the Ansys results to minimize the solution time of such systems. For this I need to have a system to know at which position which node is located. Of course, I could come up with my own system, but why reinvent the wheel when there are probably already good solutions for it in Ansys. And it is exactly this solution that I am interested in.
I hope that makes it comprehensible.
