SubscriberIs there any function or program to simulate any shape memory polymer?
I have found the Shape Memory Alloy portion to simulate in ANSYS, but is there any way to simulate shape memory polymer?
Thanks in Advanced.

Ansys EmployeeI asked a team expert and he told me that there is no direct material model for SMP's. There appear to be some unique characteristics (Strain recovery rate and strain fixity rate) that are not included in SMA.It also falls under the category of thermoplastics, which we do not have a standard option for. Most likely you will have to develop a new constitutive model and implement it using usermat subroutine.
Regards Ishan.
