How to see section properties for a ACP defined laminate?

      Hello

I have made a rather complex cylindrical composite structure defined in ACP(Pre).

Is it possible to get the bending stiffness around certain axes for different cross sections (like the ones visualized by a section cut)?

I know of the possibilities in sampling points, but would like to have the geometry as well as the complex laminate around the perimeter included... The information is there but can the information in anyway be extracted from ACP (or via another method in Workbench)?

      Thanks

Thanks for being patient. So, there is an indirect way to do this. We don't report the values directly, but we can export the needed surface mesh, material property, etc. that a third party software tool can read and report stiffness. That software is called BECAS and is used often used in the wind industry. It takes the section property and creates beam properties. ACP is used to build up the model and then the sections can be exported to BECAS . My understanding is it can report the section properties that you require, but you may wish to check with them. Here is the link to the software. https://becas.dtu.dk/
Now to export in their format, you create the section cut, but then you must change the type to one of the Surface based ones, like in the image below, I am using surface normal. You must also change the section cut type to Analysis Ply Wise.
Then when you right click on the the section cut, you pick export surface section cut, and keep in becas:in format and save to a direction. Several files are written that BECAS an read in.
Can you give this a try and let share your experience? Let us know if this helps.
      Regards Sean
