SubscriberI know how to find the minimum distance between two parallel planes but what if I want to find the distance along a particular axis, say x-axis or y-axis, etc. I believe some hand calculations can be done using trigonometry once I know the minimum distance but is there a way Spaceclaim can give me the answer straight away?

Yes, you are right, we can do some hand calculation to find out distance between two planes along some axis. But you can do it by using Spaceclaim also.
Go to measure tab, and select measure option. Then you can select 2 planes between which you want to find distance. This will give minimum distance between them.(As shown in figure)
Now, suppose you want distance between 2 planes along z-axis, then you can click on option select plane or origin(circled in blue) and select z-axis, which gives you distance along z-axis. (as shown in figure below)

If it answers your question, mark this thread as answered.

SubscriberI want to measure the distance of the bold red line. I appreciate you trying to help me visualize but what you have found is the projection of the shortest distance in direction of any axis and not the distance between two planes along a direction. If you think over it, you'll realize that both are different.

Thank you for pointing that out. I interpreted it wrongly.
You can try by creating a construction line along the z-axis (along which you want to measure the distance). So, by measuring the length of that construction line I can get the distance between those 2 planes along the Z-axis.
regards.
