SubscriberI'm trying to export the mesh I did on Ansys on a modal analysis. I've tried to right click over modal on mechanical and "export nastran file". But when my friend tries to import this .bdf file on HyperMesh, the result is not good, she cannot see anything, just some random nodes, not even the 3D component is there. Any tips on how to export correctly? Or even export to Optistruct would be helpful, as she doesn't have ansys there.

SubscriberI have successfully used the Export Nastran File button in ANSYS Workbench 2020 R1. I both ran a Modal analysis in Nastran and opened the model in the Femap Pre/Post processor.
One tip is to use Linear Elements.
Another tip is to use only Hex elements or Tet elements.
Don't have an ANSYS mesh that has any Pyramid or Wedge elements.

SubscriberPerfect, when I converted to linear elements and Tet elements only, it worked perfectly well
Thanks
