SubscriberI am working on a steel damper and I want to apply cyclic loading to get the hysteretic graph for the damper. I performed at the beginning a static structural analysis with 1mm remote displacement and then used the results of this analysis in an Eigenvalue Buckling Analysis to get the buckled shape of the damper and export the first mode to another Static Structural Analysis where the cyclic loading is applied (Deformation based). After the analysis is completed, the maximum deformation wasn't in the desired location (as obtained from Eigenvalue Buckling), and the hysteretic behavior is a mess with no appropriate shape. Also the strain never entered the plastic region knowing that the obtained stress is over 4500 MPa, what can I do to solve this issue? Attached is the obtained hysteretic behavior.
