Design of Electric Motors

This learning track covers a comprehensive understanding of electrical machines, magnetic fields, and circuits. It begins with the basic principles of electric and magnetic fields, their interactions, and applications in everyday life. The track then delves into the design and understanding of magnetic circuits, including the analysis of magnetic circuits with and without air gaps, and the role of ferrimagnetic and ferromagnetic materials in their design. The learning track further explores the study of electrical machines, focusing on Direct Current (DC) and Alternating Current (AC) machines, and their application in the design and operation of electrical machines. The track also covers the design of electrical machine windings, the principles of stator and rotor design, and the concept of pole phase modulation in induction motor drives. The learning track concludes with the comprehensive procedure for designing electrical machines, the understanding of performance parameters in electrical machines, the design principles of a switched reluctance machine, and the understanding of thermal design in electrical machines.
