Prediction of Lift through Simulations using Ansys Discovery - Lesson 1

Another interesting application of lift is found in race cars. The wings of an F1 car have elements that are very similar to the wings of an airplane, but they are upside down. This means that the lift force points toward the ground, creating what is known as downforce. This added force increases the grip of the tires on the track surface, helping the car to maintain higher speeds during turns. This model will demonstrate how downforce is generated and why it is useful in racing.
