Once the modes are calculated, they can be found in the Mode list. In this video, you will learn how to use the modal analysis tools and to interpret and visualize the results from the Mode list.
If you want to analyze the mode as a function of frequency, use the frequency analysis tab. In this video, you will learn how to use the Frequency Analysis tab to calculate and visualize the frequency-dependent properties of the modes.
If the mode doesn't get tracked properly over the frequency sweep, try increasing the number of points in the frequency sweep so the mode doesn't change as much between frequency points.
In this video, you will learn how to use the Overlap Analysis tab to calculate the overlap of a mode with another mode or beam. The tool also provides information about the power coupling of modes. For further details regarding the overlap calculation, visit the Solver Physics course in the Lumerical FDE Learning Track.
