The Ansys Innovation Space website recently experienced a database corruption issue. While service has been restored there appears to have been some data loss from November 13. We are still investigating and apologize for any issues our users may have as a result.

Multiphase Flow

This learning track covers the in-depth understanding of multiphase flow, a critical concept in various fields such as pollution control, nanotechnology, and biochemical engineering. The track begins with the basics of multiphase flow and its distinction from simple fluid mechanics. It further explores different types of multiphase flow situations, including two-phase, three-phase, and four-phase flows. The track emphasizes the importance of studying multiphase flow, underlining its significance in power systems, process systems, transport systems, and more. It concludes with a detailed discussion on the complexities of two-phase flow situations and the necessity for precise data on hydrodynamics and heat transfer characteristics. An illustrative example is the practical problem from an oil company, which underscores the importance of understanding flow patterns in designing and operating distillation columns.
