What is the difference between one- and two-dimensional numerical beach damping types?
The Fluent User Guide states that:
– Two-dimensional (2D) is the damping treatment in the beach and gravity direction.
– One-dimensional (1D) is the damping treatment in the beach direction.
So, if you want to include the effect of gravitational damping of surface waves, use the 2D option. If you want to neglect this effect and only dampen waves with the numerical beach, choose the 1D option.
