IGES Exported from MAPDL is Scaled — Lesson 9

Why is the IGES exported from MAPDL scaled when importing to SCDM?

By default, IGES files exported from APDL come in meters. For example, if one of the lines measures 30 units in APDL, the same dimension in the IGES exported file will be read 30 m. However, if you know that this dimension should be 30 mm in the iges file, then you need to first set appropriate units in APDL before exporting to IGES. For setting millimeter units, set the units to MPA using command "/units,mpa". This will change the unit system in APDL without changing the dimension values. So, the exported IGES file will now have the value reported as 30mm.
