The Constitutive Relations of Linearized Elasticity - Lesson 2

In this lesson, we discuss various properties of the elasticity tensor e.g., its positive definiteness. We discuss how various elastic constants such as Young’s modulus, the Poisson’s ratio, the bulk modulus, the Lame’s parameters are related to each other. These relations along with certain conditions establish the upper and lower limits for allowable values of the elastic constants for physical material.
