Simulation of a Microstrip Filter — Lesson 7

In this module, a fifth-order bandpass Chebyshev microstrip filter is synthesized with the Ansys Nuhertz Filter Solutions tool. The filter layout is easily exported into Ansys HFSS 3D Layout inside Ansys Electronics Desktop (AEDT) and ready for electromagnetic (EM) simulation. The exported model geometry includes model variables, and a parametric analysis is set up inside HFSS to help tune the filter. A wrapped or curved version of the planar microstrip filter is also created and the S-parameters of both geometries are compared.
