How to Import CAD — Lesson 2

Now that we know how to prepare the geometry for importing it into the watertight workflow in Ansys Fluent Meshing, let's go ahead and see the import geometry task in action. In this lesson, we will go through the steps needed to import a CAD geometry into the Watertight Workflow in Ansys Fluent Meshing. We will also discuss the different settings that are available as part of the Import Geometry task, such as “Separate Zones by” and “Custom Faceting” in detail. We will then analyze how these settings affect the resultant CAD import, so that you can make an informed decision while importing your geometries into the Watertight Workflow. Details about the “pmdb” file format are also provided.
