Tensors I — Lesson 1
In this lesson we introduce the tensor, a mathematical term that can be thought of as a generalization of scalars and vectors. Tensors are an important part of continuum mechanics. We discuss how tensors belong to linear operators and why they are important in studying any type of physics. Also, we will present some examples relating to tensors and physical quantities.
