Application of Implicit and Explicit Methods — Lesson 5

In this lesson, we will use apply the concepts we learned in the previous lessons to simulate (1) a baseball being hit by a bat and (2) a heavy-duty excavator.

In the first case, the baseball is made from a soft material, while the bat is made from a much harder (almost rigid) material.

For the second example, we consider an excavator digger arm used at construction sites and simulate the deformation and internal stress in its critical components. We make intelligent assumptions to reduce the computational cost while maintaining reasonable accuracy in the results obtained.
