Large Deformations Governing Equations — Lesson 3

So far we have seen how individual physical scenarios result in a nonlinear response. But nonlinearities often appear in tandem.

For instance, the blades of a wind turbine witness both stress stiffening and spin softening.

A suspension bridge can be influenced by both large strain and stress stiffening.

In this lesson, we will learn how each of these nonlinearities come together in the governing equation and affect the overall structure's stiffness.
