This course introduces the use of the Ansys Icepak® electronics cooling simulation software extension for ROM (Reduced Order Model) building via the ACT interface. It guides users through installing the extension, setting up parametric sweeps, extracting simulation data, and building static ROMs for thermal analysis. The course also covers integration with Ansys Twin Builder® simulation-based digital twin platform for system-level simulation and validation.
Learning Outcomes:
Following completion of this tutorial, you will be able to:
- Install and activate the Ansys Icepak software ROM Builder ACT extension.
- Set up and run parametric sweeps or DOE in Ansys Icepak software.
- Extract field data for ROM creation using the extension.
- Build static ROMs from Ansys Icepak software simulation results.
- Import and validate ROMs in Ansys Twin Builder software.
- Compare ROM outputs with full 3D simulation results.
- Use ROMs for fast, system-level thermal simulations. Utilize Ansys Cloud resources, forums, and learning hubs for continued support.
Please note: These training materials were developed and tested in the 2025R1 release.
