This application best practice focuses on improving simulation efficiency by using the Coefficient of Convergence method in Ansys Fluent® fluid simulation software. It aims to help you reduce solution time without compromising accuracy.
Learning Outcomes:
After completing this course, participants will be able to:
- Understand the concept of Coefficient of Variation (COV) and its role in quantifying CFD solution convergence.
- Evaluate convergence using COV in addition to traditional metrics such as residuals and monitor points.
- Implement COV monitoring in Ansys Fluent software using Python scripts and UDF-based approaches.
- Determine appropriate convergence criteria and stopping points for steady-state and transient CFD simulations.
- Reduce computational time and optimize simulation workflows through COV-based convergence assessment techniques.
Prerequisites:
Previous experience using and applying the Ansys Fluent software solver is recommended

- UDF
- Python
