This workshop introduces you to Ansys HFSS™ high-frequency electromagnetic simulation software for designing and analyzing a bandpass filter. It covers the complete workflow from opening a project to simulating and visualizing results. The focus is on practical steps for setting up materials, boundaries, excitations, and analysis parameters, followed by generating S-parameter plots and electric field visualizations.

Learning Outcomes:

Following completion of this workshop, you will be able to:

  • Navigate Ansys HFSS and manage Ansys Electronics Desktop (AEDT)™ electronics systems design platform projects effectively.
  • Assign materials and boundaries (e.g., aluminum, copper) to components for accurate electromagnetic simulation.
  • Configure excitations using terminal wave ports with reference conductors.
  • Create broadband solution setup and frequency sweep.
  • Validate to ensure proper simulation setup and analyze design.
  • Interpret results by creating S-parameter plots and electric field visualizations.
  • Animate field distributions to understand phase-dependent behavior within the filter.
