This tutorial describes a workflow for overcoming a current bottleneck in automated Ansys optiSLang® process integration and design optimization software's sensitivity and optimization analyses involving parametric updates across Windows and Linux platforms, where Linux firewall restrictions prevent SSH tunneling.

1. Ansys Discovery™ 3D product simulation software (or Ansys SpaceClaim® 3D computer-aided design (CAD) modeling software) geometry parametric updates - generally only works on Windows.

2. Heavy duty computations using Ansys solvers (e.g., Ansys Fluent® fluid simulation software, Ansys Mechanical™ structural finite element analysis software) on a high-performance Linux compute cluster.

Learning Outcomes:

Following completion of this tutorial, you will be able to:

  • Learn Windows–Linux parametric workflows when Linux firewall prevents SSH tunneling.
  • Run a Windows Sensitivity project using dummy parameters to generate the DOE table.
  • Configure the Linux Reevaluate System with Text Input, Bash, and ETK nodes.
  • Execute a MOP-based optimization maximizing outlet uniformity.

Prerequisites:

  • Get Started with Ansys optiSLang Software course
  • Proficiency in Ansys Discovery software/Ansys SpaceClaim software.
    • Geometric parameter creation.
  • Proficiency in Ansys Fluent Watertight Geometry Meshing (WTM) workflow.
  • Proficiency in Ansys Fluent solver.
    • Input/output parameter creation.
    • Simple journal commands.
  • General familiarity with Ansys optiSLang software user interface and its operations.

Please note: These training materials were developed and tested in the 2026R1 release.
