SubscriberI've installed 2025R2, and whenever we try to start any of the ANSYS products, a web browser tab opens wanting a login to some ANSYS web site.
What is the point, and how do we prevent this?

Forum ModeratorThat sounds like Ansys CoPilot. It's an extra licence option to allow the users to activate CoPilot and get additional help from within the solvers. If you don't click on CoPilot nothing happens, and it can be disabled by switching off the licence increment: that may be for the entire site.

SubscriberThank you for the idea.
Do you happen to know the name of the license increment for ANSYS CoPilot? I've searched the license file, and there's nothing with the word "copilot".

Forum ModeratorTry AIS or GPT, it’s linked into the AnsysGPT functionality, but unless it’s really causing a problem I’d leave it alone.

SubscriberI have set up a second workstation for troubleshooting, and I don't see this web browser window popping up on this second one. The difference seems to be that in the Ansys Licensing Settings program, under "Web Licensing" , "Products", the "Enabled" switch is turned off. On the first workstation, that is turned on, and there's no way to turn it off, as selecting "Web Licensing", and then "Products" just produces a "Getting license data..." message but nothing ever happens.
I'm not sure what that is, or how it got turned on, but I apparently have to uninstall and re-install to get it to be correct.

Forum ModeratorIt should be possible to alter that, I just don't know how: I typically cover solver questions!
I'll ping the Install team to comment.

Ansys EmployeePlease open C:\Program Files\ANSYS Inc\Shared Files\Licensing\ansyslmd.ini file(default installation path). Change the value of ANSYS_LICENSING_SHARED_WEB and ANSYS_LICENSING_WEB from 1 to 0, so that it looks like below in the file:
ANSYS_LICENSING_SHARED_WEB=0
ANSYS_LICENSING_WEB=0Save the file. You will need admin access to save this file. Then check if the issue is resolved.
