Use Solid185 with reduced intergration (from Workbench)

For a specific postprocessor, we need elements with reduced integration. In Ansys Classic no problem:

      ET,1,SOLID185
      KEYOPT,1,2,1

But this not work in Ansys Workbench. If I add a command block to my geometry in that way (mesh option linear):

      KEYOPT,typeids(1),2,1

and I open the RST with Ansys Classic an list the element types, I see:

      ELEMENT TYPE        1 IS SOLID185     3-D 8-NODE STRUCTURAL SOLID
      KEYOPT( 1- 6)=        0      3      0        0      0      0
      KEYOPT( 7-12)=        0      0      0        0      0      0
      KEYOPT(13-18)=        0      0      0        0      0      0

Keyopt 2 is set to 3 (= Simplified enhanced strain formulation).

How can I solve this problem? Thanks!

      Do this natively:

      Element control manual

      (Then set reduced)

With that we get all good results and reduced int.

      All the best

      Thank you!! Works!

Two thoughts that come to mind:
      - It’s a GUI disaster to hide element settings within the geometry branch (why aren’t there corresponding settings on the mesh node in the tree?)
      - Any idea why the APDL command didn't work in the first post? Does KEYOPT need to be called before generating the elements?

      Appreciate that.
Can see that can be the case perhaps.

Not sure why (WB writes a lot of commands that can override the keyopt command).

      Good it helps.

      All the best

      Erko
