SubscriberI am trying to replace my mesh with the new one. Old and new meshes have same geometric dimensions(i used boi for the new mesh but it got disappeared when i choose it as a boi during the meshing process). Just mesh quality is little bit different. 6.12. Modifying the Mesh
By using the link above i tried to replace my mesh. But it gave error and fluent shut down. I do not know where did i got wrong. I dont want to lose my data from the old mesh.
Hope you can help

Forum ModeratorAre you replacing the mesh in Fluent in standalone mode? Some idea of what the error message was would be good. I've just thrown away my tea leaves and my crystal ball is in the office.Â

SubscriberLet me explain it like this, I open the workbench. Then I select Fluid fow (fluent with fluent meshing) in the workbench. Then I drag it to the blocks in the project shematic. Then I open the setup from here using double precision. Then I import an old case and data to this new fluent file. I had previously run this case and data with the old mesh. I don't want to lose its data or bother with re-establishing it. Then I select replace mesh in the zone ribbon and want it to import the new mesh. And I click interpolate data across zones. The new mesh is saved on this path. D:\SimulationsSTARCCM\exp_085sAT1.15000e+00\vol009\flow analysis of 45 degree_files\new cropped geometry 28 mayis\cropped_geometry_files\dp0\FFF-2\Fluent
Why did I tell you all this because I don't know if this is a standalone or something else.As for the error, you were right about the magic sphere, sorry, it closed itself immediately when the error occurred, I couldn't catch the error the first time. I took these images as I approached the error moment. I can also send you the images that appeared in the console before if you want.

SubscriberAnd also sorry for answering late it takes too much time to reload a case and data after it shut down because its a big model

Forum ModeratorStand alone means you launch Fluent from the Start Menu, it's generally better and we've never really used Fluent Meshing in Workbench - that's an older workflow for Ansys Meshing. The other issue may be the path, other than the other CFD code, including + symbols isn't recommended, - and _ are OK, but avoid all other command type characters.Â
So, launch Fluent Meshing from Start and build the mesh. Save the mesh. Open the original Fluent case and data. Interpolate (out) the data set and read the new mesh, check scale etc, initialise and interpolate the data back in. Save & iterate.Â
