Reducing the number of values shown on a legend

      Hi

I have drawn a contour plot and set the number of contours to 15. But I want to show only 5 values/ticks on the legend. How can i do it in CFDPost?

      Hi,

You can control the number of legend ticks using the Range settings in the contour setup. But there won't be 15 contours, as it depends on the number of ticks you want.  Here's how you can do it step-by-step:

      Steps:

      1. Go to your Contour settings (the same place where you set the number of contours to 15).

      2. Look for the Range option.

      3. In the Range section, select Value List instead of the default option.

      4. When you select Value List, the "# of Contours" option will disappear, and you will see a new input field called Value List.

      Example:

Let’s say the variable you are plotting (for example, velocity) ranges from 0 m/s to 6 m/s.

If you want to show 5 ticks on the legend, you can enter the following in the Value List:

      0, 1.5, 3, 4.5, 6

      • This will plot 6 contours, but the legend will only display these 5 values: 0, 1.5, 3, 4.5, and 6 m/s.

      Summary:

      • Contours shown: 6

      • Legend ticks shown: Only the specific values you list (5 in this example)
