Penetration

Hello everyone,

I have this static simulation between a spring being pushed on stud and in can't figure out why the spring keeps penetrating the stud. Can you help me out ?

Hello,

Not sure of the mechanism, but can you try increasing the Normal Stiffness of the contact to a factor of 1.5 or so. 

This can help in preventing large contact penetrations.

Insert a Contact Tool under the Connections folder and Generate Initial Contact Status to check if the contact is Near Open.  If it is Far Open, then you need to increase the Pinball Radius to get it to be Near Open.
